Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Ceramic Studio Technician to join our team on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. This position requires a strong technical background in ceramics, a passion for craftsmanship, and the ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced studio. The ideal candidate will be skilled in hand-building and glazing at cone 5, with a keen eye for detail and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities:
• Hand-building ceramic components with precision and consistency.
• Applying glazes for cone 5 firing, experimenting with finishes as needed.
• Assisting in kiln loading/unloading and monitoring firing schedules.
• Troubleshooting and maintaining quality control of ceramic pieces.
• Managing materials and maintaining an organized studio environment.
• Supporting research and development efforts for new designs and techniques.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a ceramics studio.
• Proficiency in hand-building techniques and glazing for cone 5 firing.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Familiarity with studio equipment and processes, including kiln operation.
Work Schedule:
Part-time, with flexible hours tailored to studio needs. Potential for a full-time role based on performance and studio requirements. Hybrid work schedules may be available for certain tasks.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Compensation starts at $24/hour and up, depending on experience and expertise.
